A new chapter begins for this family of three as they wait with much anticipation for the arrival of their baby girl and soon become a family of four.  Even though this is their second child, this was their first maternity session and I was so honored to preserve their story.

With each session, comes planning and preparing days, if not months before the session. As a Covina maternity photographer, located 20 miles from Los Angeles, there are a variety of locations to shoot at, it’s just a matter of finding the perfect backdrop that will compliment my client’s personality and style. This particular session was shot in Eaton Canyon Falls, located in Altadena, California. I discovered this location during a workshop I took back in February and fell in love with the beautiful wildflowers and greenery, I just knew this would be an ideal location for their maternity session.

When mama arrived in this beautiful gown from Free People, I was so excited and knew it would go perfectly with this outdoor setting. There were so many beautiful locations throughout the area which provided a variety of gorgeous images for their gallery. Typically before I shoot on-location, I’ll take a trip out so I can scope out the area, determine where I’ll get some soft light and find spots where there is less foot traffic.

Meet big brother, Theodore. I can just tell by his smile that he’s super excited to meet his baby sister. I can’t believe it was two years ago that I captured his newborn portraits, time sure flies by fast.
