Looking Ahead in 2022 | Los Angeles Photographer

Hey there, I don’t know about you but I love the beginning of a new year. It’s a time of reflection, gratitude and making new commitments.

During the last couple of weeks, I took some time to reflect, wrote down the things that I’m grateful for and made a list of new commitments. In this month’s newsletter I thought I’d share some of those with you.

Reflection

In looking back on this past year, I realized for me it was a season of rediscovering who I was as an artist and business women. Sure, there were some challenges but I learned to look at it with a different lens, I realized I needed to embrace whatever came my way as an opportunity to learn and grow. I’m looking forward to putting what I’ve learned into practice this year! Click here to read about my recent trip to Colorado for a photographer’s retreat.

“Reflection gives the brain an opportunity to pause amidst the chaos, untangle and sort through observations and experiences, consider multiple possible interpretations, and create meaning.” – Harvard

Gratitude

One of things that I’m grateful for are the clients that I’ve met over the past 6 years as a photographer. I’ve met many great families and created new friendships. It’s such a blessing to have clients that trust me in preserving their story and for that I’m truly grateful. Thank you so much for your continued support and friendship.

TIP: By taking the time to write down things that you are grateful for can help refocus you on the things that are positive vs. the negative.

New Commitments

Have you ever watched those TikTok videos where these ladies organize their entire refrigerator, pantry, drawers and closets? Well, I’m obsessed with these videos, to the point that you’ll probably find me on my days off at the local HomeGoods store in the Organizers/Storage section. LOL. My husband just laughs at me but he also loves the fact that I’m organizing our home. Well “organizing my home” is just one of my commitments this year and I’m excited to see the results. I’ll let you know how it goes.

But all kidding aside, I’m sure you all know that making commitments can be a daunting task but the fear that you won’t be able to follow through with it, is daunting in itself.

Here are some tips as you look ahead in 2022 and make your new commitments.

  • First, you need to make reasonable and achievable commitments.
  • Second, you need to schedule small tasks throughout your day or week that will help you stay on track in keeping with your commitments.
  • Lastly, you need to give yourself a little bit of grace, I know we can be so hard on ourselves but you’ve got this!

As we enter this new year, I hope you’ll continue to stay connected with me through our newsletters, on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.

Until then please take care of the ones you love and I’ll talk to you soon!

– Vanessa
